After a tricky start to life at the King Power Stadium, the 25-year-old full-back, who has also been deployed as a winger, appears to have settled into life in England and his recent displays have been eye-catching, to say the least.
Having helped Leicester secure a 1-0 win at Chelsea prior to Christmas, Pereira then scored the winner in the 2-1 home victory over defending English champions Manchester City on Boxing Day.
Speaking about the Lisbon-born star, Puel said: “He’s improved a lot. When I had him at Nice he was a left back. He was fantastic on the counter-attack. “He’s had difficulties here to win battles. He’s come back strong. In the last six or seven games, he’s been excellent in defence and winning battles. “He’s a former winger. He can attack. He can play full-back and on the wing both sides. That’s good for him and the team.”
