As part of his efforts to make the top 100 in the world, Nigerian Aruna Quadri will today begin his campaigns at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Tour tagged Czech Open.
The championship which is one of the ITTF points haling event serves off on Wednesday in Olomouc with over 296 players from 40 countries competing for honours.
Unseeded Quadri will compete from the preliminary round in group 27 alongside Spaniard Alvaro Robles and Serbian Valentin Nemedi Nad in the men singles event. Quadri has partnered Polish Daniel Gorak in the men doubles event.
Quadri first group match will be against the Serbian on Wednesday while his last match will be on Thursday against the Spaniard.
Speaking ahead of his first match today, the African champion said his main objective in Olomouc was to ensure he improves is world rating as well as cause one of the upsets in the tournament.
It is going to be a tough tournament considering the quality of players in the tournament.
