Nigeria’s table tennis sensation, Aruna Quadri, helped his new club Sporting Lisbon to a first title in four years by winning the Portuguese Super Cup, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Quadri helped Sporting win the title by recording two wins against his former side, GD Toledos.
He posted 3-2 and 3-1 victories against fellow countryman Seun Ajetunmobi and Diogo Silva respectively.
“Playing against my former team was not easy, but I’m happy to be one of the players who won the title for Sporting after four years of title drought.
“Two more titles to go and we will continue working harder for these two more titles in front of us- Portuguese Cup and League Cup,” Quadri wrote on his twitter handle.
The 27-year-old was voted the International Table Tennis Federation Star Player of the year in 2014.
