Ganiyat Quadri, wife of Quadri Aruna is proud that her husband fulfilled his promise of wininng the men’s singles title at the 2018 ITTF Challenge Seamaster Nigeria Open at the Molade Okoya Hall of the Teslim Balogun stadium, in Lagos Nigeria reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Aruna defeated Frenchman Antoine Hachard 4-2 (11-13, 11-3, 8-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-7) to clinch the title – the very first time by any Nigerian, in the history of the competition.
Ganiyat, a former Nigeria junior table tennis international, however admits that Quadri’s opponent Antoine Hachard was a hard player to beat.
She also hails the unflinching support of the Quadri Aruna Fan Club notably in the final against Hachard.
“My husband promised and delivered, I am so excited; this is a promise fulfilled. I am proud of him,” Ganiyat Aruna told ITTF’s official website.
