Domingos Quina has been boosted by Javi Gracia’s praise as he hopes to retain his place in the Watford team for the visit of Cardiff. The 19-year-old was handed his first start for the Hornets in Monday’s 2-2 draw at Everton and he produced an impressive performance.
Quina’s chance came after he performed well as a substitute in last week’s 2-1 home defeat against Manchester City and he came into the side at Goodison Park at the expense of Nathaniel Chalobah with Etienne Capoue ruled out due to suspension.
And with Capoue still banned for Saturday’s clash with Cardiff at Vicarage Road, Quina looks set to keep his place after winning some glowing praise from Gracia.
He said: “It is not easy to play the first game, his debut. He had an amazing performance. “Everybody knows he is a very good young player, but he has a great presence and an amazing future as well. He is always ready to help the squad like he did.”
