Nigerian midfielder Raheem Lawal has revealed he is prepared to join Besiktas this summer from Eskişehirspor if an agreement is reached with his current club.
Lawal, who has been linked with a move to AS Roma, is reportedly seen as a valuable replacement for Tolgay Arslan who sustained an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee in Besiktas’ pre-season tour of Germany.
The German-born Beşiktaş midfielder has been ruled out for six months and will undergo knee surgery immediately, prompting coach Şenol Güneş to renew a bid for the Nigerian international who is keen to leave Eskişehirspor.
Tolgay scored two goals in 22 appearances in Beşiktaş just as Lawal did in 28 games last season.
“If they agree, I’m ready for it,” Lawal was quoted on fanatik.com.tr
“Everyone likes to wear the Besiktas jersey. I would like also but of course, that’s if they see that my transfer is realized.
“But as I said, there is more than a contract and must be in line Eskişehirspor’s demands but I’m ready for it.”
