Rangers Appoint Emeteole As New Coach

By Sab Osuji:

Enugu Rangers have announced the appointment of Kelechi Emeteole as new technical adviser of the club, completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Emeteole thus replaces John Obuh as new handler of the Coal City Flying Antelopes.

Emeteole, nicknamed ‘Catapillar’ signed a one year contract with Rangers, the club confirmed in an official statement by Foster Chime, Director, Media and Publicity of the club.

Prior to his appointment, the outspoken gaffer handled Heartland of Owerri in the concluded season, having in 2009 led the club to the CAF Champions League final.

Completesportsnigeria.com reports that Emeteole had once won the Nigeria Premier League with Enyimba and qualified Heartland for the group stage of the 2010 CAF Champions League before he was replaced by Samson Siasia.

Emeteole is also a former Enugu Rangers player and was a right-back defender during his career.

He beat the likes of Maurice Cooreman who was earlier touted to have landed the job and Sylvanus Okpala, also a former player of the club to the job.
