Enugu Rangers are understood to be enmeshed in another transfer logjam this time with an Enugu-based amateur side, First Best Farmers FC, completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Glo Premier League side have been previously involved in transfer controversies, including one concerning Sunday Mba.
At the centre of the current feud is former Nigeria junior international, Alex Nkume.
Nkume is said to have returned to the country a few years ago after his European career hit a snag.
He was said to have signed for First Best Farmers, a club owned by his in-law.
But officials of the club said they were taken aback when they discovered that a deal had been done between the Coal City Flying Antelopes and "their" player, Nkume, behind their back without their knowledge and transfer formalities not carried out.
"Initially we took it like a rumour, but when we got to know the player featured for Rangers in the league match against Dolphins in Port Harcourt and another game (against Giwa FC or so), in Enugu, we knew it was no longer a rumour," explains proprietor of the club, Mrs Ify Nwaoboshi.
"At this point, we raised the alarm, spoke to some people and they tactically "stopped" playing him in matches.
"As we speak, I have his license with which we registered him for this year's FA Cup with the Nigeria Football Federation.
"We're not interested in stopping his career, we're not concerned about money as regards transfer or whatever.
"But courtesy demands we should be contacted before he's signed."
Completesportsnigeria.com put a call through to Rangers General Manager, Paul Chibuzor, on the transfer of Nkume.
Ozor denied knowledge of whtever transfer isue concerning the former Golden Eaglets left-back.
"I'm not aware of any club claiming ownership of Alex (Nkume).
"We have approached the NFF for a provisional clearance and have gotten it."Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
