Ranieri: Leicester City Fighting For Champions League Spot

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri is looking forward to his side’s Sunday game against Sunderland and admits his team are happy to have at least secured a Champions League place.

Table-toppers Leicester will attempt to take a huge step towards the Premier League title when they travel to relegation-threatened Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.

With Tottenham Hotspur not in action until later in the day, victory for Leicester at the Stadium of Light would move them 10 points clear at the summit and leave Sunderland planted inside the relegation zone in the process.

The Italian was asked how many more victo0 Leicester need to win the title at his Friday’s press conference.

“I don’t know. The others can win all their matches. I think the Europa is done. We are fighting for the Champions League now,” Ranieri said during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Having confirmed that he has no injury concerns – and that Jeff Schlupp is back in his squad – Claudio Ranieri was asked about his manager of the month award and the impending PFA prizes, for which several of his players are in contention.

“I’m very pleased but the team’s doing well. I’d put all of my 11 players (in the PFA team of the year). They have allowed the fans to dream. A lot of children come to our training ground. It’s amazing. That’s good.”
