Worcestershire Rapids and Lancashire Lightning have been drawn to go head-to-head in the T20 Blast semi-finals on September 15 The Rapids, who finished in top spot in the North Group, sealed their place on finals day at Edgbaston next month for the first time in their history courtesy of a five-wicket win against Gloucester on Saturday.
Lancashire finished third in the group, but made it to the last-four after overcoming Kent Spitfires in Thursday’s quarter-final at Canterbury.
The Rapids will have a psychological edge over the Lightning given that they defeated them by five wickets with one ball to spare in the North Group at Old Trafford in the opening game.
Sussex Sharks will take on the winners of the Somerset and Notts Outlaws tie which will now be played on Monday after Sunday’s game was wiped out because of the adverse weather conditions at Taunton.
