England spinner Adil Rashid is reportedly on the verge of agreeing a new contract with Adil Rashid. Rashid’s future has been up in the air after Yorkshire director of cricket Martyn Moxon said he was “disappointed” by the leg-spinner’s call-up for England’s Test series against India.
The 30-year-old has only played in limited-overs games for the White Rose this season and his inclusion in his country’s Test team was met by widespread criticism.
During the fall-out, Rashid revealed he would consider his future, saying “if they treat me like they have done, don’t see any value in me and are disrespectful to me, I have to think about the future in terms of which county I play for.”
But it now appears he will be extending his stay at Headingley, with a new deal to play in all formats close to being signed.
