Chelsea on Thursday sacked manager Jose Mourinho after a poor run of results.

The Premier League leaders have had a bad season so far and are just one point above the relegation zone, placing 16th in the Premier League table with 15 points..

Speculation had mounted over the future of the Portuguese manager in recent days but the announcement was made on Thursday which will continue to divide opinions worldwide.

“All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013,” a statement on the club’s website said.

“His three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cup wins over two spells make him the most successful manager in our 110-year history.

“But both Jose and the board agreed results have not been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests of both parties to go our separate ways.

“The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at Chelsea.”

So as Chelsea sacked Mourinho following a poor season so far, what is your opinion about the decision? Was Jose Mourinho at fault? Do you think his players betrayed him as he claimed? chelsea owner is right to sack mou. Bcos if mou contineu bonanza will go on. Though am an arsenal fan, i will like the bonanza to go on.

  • The whole world football lovers are condemning the sacking of Mourinho but I think many are not sincere. They are just follow follow- following after the crowd. The few sincere ones are just not thinking straight but are just blind fans of Mourinho. A small group are hypocrites like Arsene Wenger and Pellegrini. Read their heart, they are secretly happy that ‘let him taste some bitter pills too. He only know how to insult and mouthy. Good for him.’ For me I will say I am not in support of the sack. For a different reason and not because I sympathize with him. Far from it. I have said it severally that Mourinho is cunning. In the 3rd year of his contract, he will deliberately cause confusion and anarchy so that he will be sacked. Meanwhile in the middle of his 2nd year he will have his contract extended. When he is sacked, the club will pay Hugh sum running into 40-50 million pound or Euro. I thought Abranovich was smart to keep himso that he runs out his contract without any going to the market with big money from Abranovich. He got about 9-10 million this time for a contract that was to end in 2018. I believe if not for the rancour in the dressing room, Mourinho would have been left to rut in his urine. Maybe his health too. Wayo man die, wayo man bury am. Mourinho is fake. He became a sorry sight when he is confronted for the first with a problem. Other ‘lesser’ coaches would have done something but Mourinho was so clueless and confused. Thanks to Abranovich for letting him out of his misery.
