Real Madrid have handed Santiago Solari a three-year contract to remain Real Madrid manager through the 2020-21 season after his impressive start in charge of the team.
Solari started life at Santiago Bernabeu with four wins from four matches, and will now continue on a long-term basis through the 2020-21 season.
The former Argentine midfielder was named interim boss after Julen Lopetegui’s was sacked and he has helped restore calm to the dressing room following a tumultuous period under his predecessor.
“The truth is that we are very happy with him,” Madrid director Emilio Butragueno told Movistar+.
“There is no doubt that he came at a very particular moment and has been able to achieve very good results.”
Real Madrid has now scored 15 goals and conceded just two under Solari.
Armed with a new deal, Solari will look to keep Madrid’s run going against Eibar on November 24 and also aim to win the La Liga, the Champions League and the Supercopa de España which he won as a player at the club.
