Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that the second-tier English club are chasing Trabzonspor's Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Several reports in England and Turkey claim that an agreement has been reached in principle between both clubs for the sale of the Super Eagles star but the transfer has not yet been officially announced.
The Super Eagles vice-captain was not part of the Trabzonspor's squad that trained on Thursday, Completesportsnigeria.com learnt.
"Onazi is someone we're chasing," Birmingham's official Twitter handle quoted Redknapp as saying at his press conference on Thursday. "We're trying to get him, we're hopeful, but let's see."
Meanwhile, Completesportsnigeria.com gathered from Onazi's agent Ayodele Makinwa that all parties are close to reaching a deal for his sale.
"Yes there is a interest from Birmingham and there are talks but we will see how it unfolds," Makinwa told Completesportsnigeria.com.
