Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has committed his long-term future by signing a five-and-a-half-year deal. The 21-year-old has developed into a key figure on Merseyside since joining from Charlton for £3.5million in the summer of 2015.
Gomez and Virgil van Dijk have formed a strong partnership at the back this term with Liverpool conceding just six times in the Premier League.

The versatile defender, who has already won six England caps, is currently nursing a fractured leg which will keep him out for around six weeks, but his new deal will go some way to easing his frustration.
Gomez told Liverpool’s official website: “Signing this new deal means the world to me. “I’ve been at the club a few years now and have had the pleasure to play for Liverpool and experience what that means, so I am delighted to get the chance to extend my contract here.
“I love the club, I love playing and learning here, and I am happy for that to continue.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
