Rennes face a fight to keep hold of winger Ismaila Sarr with both Arsenal and Inter Milan believed to be vying for his signature. The 20-year-old burst on to the radar of several clubs with his performances for Senegal at the World Cup this summer, earning a nomination for the Golden Ball award for the tournament’s best player.
Sarr has been likened to France and Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele due to his pace, while his wonder goal for Rennes in the Europa League last week has only boosted the hype surrounding him.
Italian giants Inter have been strongly linked with Sarr but Rennes have said they will not be looking to sell in January, while the Senegalese flyer claims to be happy in France for the time being.
Premier League Arsenal are now understood to be making checks on Sarr as they seek to add a pacey wideman to their ranks and won’t be put off by the reported £20million asking price were they to firm up their interest.
