Reus Makes Improvement Claim

Marco Reus insists he can continue to improve after making an impressive start to the season with Borussia Dortmund. The Germany international has had to deal with a number of injury issues over recent years, but he appears to have put those problems behind him this term, featuring in all but 38 minutes of Dortmund’s run to the top of the Bundesliga standings.

The 29-year-old has scored eight goals and provided four assists in his 11 Bundesliga appearances to date this season and he is on course to beat his best ever scoring campaign in the German top flight, which currently stands at 18 from his time with Borussia Monchengladbach.

However, Reus does not feel he has reached the peak of his powers just yet, as he believes he can still get even better over the coming years. “I’m in good shape, no question, and I’ve always said that I can help any team when I’m healthy and in rhythm over a longer period of time,” Reus explained to Suddeutsche Zeitung.

“But saying this is ‘the best Reus ever’ is a little over the top for me. That would also mean that it won’t get any better, but it’s still getting better.”

Reus is currently away on international duty with Germany and he could feature in their UEFA Nations League clash with Holland on Monday.
