Leeds Rhinos have announced the signing of highly-rated Tonga international centre Konrad Hurrell on a three-year deal. The Super League outfit are embarking on a new era after the appointment of head coach David Furner and the Australian has already started the rebuilding process.
Rhinos finished last term in a disappointing ninth place before going on to win five of their seven outings in The Qualifiers.
Furner has turned to a familiar face in Hurrell, who leaves NRL side Gold Coast Titans, to try and boost his options ahead of the 2019 campaign.
Hurrell knows Furner from their time together with the Tonga national side and is excited to reunite with the former Canberra Raiders boss.
“I’m looking forward to getting to Leeds and especially having the chance to work with Dave Furner again,” Hurrell told the club’s official website.
“I have done a lot with Dave in the Tongan camp over the last few years and he has helped me a lot. I am excited about the move and the next three years.
“When I ask people about playing in Super League they always say how enjoyable it is. I just want to play my part in the team and hopefully we can achieve success together.
“I have heard that the fans are crazy over in England and that is something that I am looking forward to.
“I have spoken to Dave Furner about what he expects from me and he thinks my style will suit the game over there. I just need to do my job; do the hard running and make my tackles, and the rest should take care of itself.”4 Secrets To Becoming Rich – How To Get Rich From Nothing: This ebook is a must read for anyone serious about exiting the rate race....
