New Leeds coach David Furner has confirmed the Rhinos are trying to wrap up a deal that will see Trent Merrin arrive in Super League. The former Australian international is currently with Penrith Panthers, but the NRL side are reported to have given him permission to pursue a move elsewhere in 2019.

Leeds are certainly one option, and Furner, who began coaching duties with his new club yesterday, confirmed talks have taken place already.
“There’s interest, and there’s interest from both sides but certainly no contract has been signed,” Furner said. “There’s obviously been talks. It’s whether we can. That’s where we’re at. He’s still with Penrith at the moment.”
Furner says there has also been plenty of dialogue with Leeds’ Director of Rugby Kevin Sinfield and CEO Gary Hetherington as they look to make another marquee signing. “If we’ve got that one spot, we’ll sit down and talk about the situation,” Furner said.
“I’ve been in close contact with Kev and Gary about availability, whether that be a quota spot. I’ve definitely been doing my homework. We are obviously looking at bringing in world class players if we can.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
