Leeds Rhinos have handed promising youngster Mikolaj Oledzki a new four-year contract which will run until 2022.
The 20-year-old was, who was born in Gdansk, Poland, has come through the academy at Emerald Headingley and he forced his way into the senior side last term.
Oledzki made 22 appearances for the Rhinos in 2018 and his exploits earned a spot with the England Knights on their tour to Papua New Guinea.
The prop is regarded as one of the brightest stars coming through in the Super League and he believes the club will aid his development over the coming years.
Oledzki said: “It is great to have my new contract all sorted. “I have signed the new deal because I believe Leeds is one of the greatest clubs in the world and I want to play here.”
Club legend and director of rugby Kevin Sinfield has been impressed with Oledzki’s work ethic and feels he is fully deserving of the deal, which runs until at least the end of 2022.
Sinfield said: “I am delighted that Mikolaj has agreed a new long-term contract with the club. “He has worked incredibly hard over the last few years to develop his game but he would be the first to admit that there is still plenty he can work on over the coming years.
“He is one of the most enthusiastic members of our squad and he earned his place in the England Knights squad through his performances last year. “For a prop, he is still young but, if he continues to develop, he will have a bright future in the game.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
