Japan's U-23 coach Makoto Teguramori has named Urawa Reds striker Shinzo Koroki his third and final overage player for this summer’s Rio Olympics men's football event.
Japan will face Nigeria, Colombia and Sweden in Group B in this summer’s games.
According to japantimes.co.jp, Teguramori made the announcement on Sunday.
And pending successful discussions with his club, Koroki will join defenders Tsukasa Shiotani (Sanfrecce Hiroshima) and Hiroki Fujiharu (Gamba Osaka) in Teguramori’s team.
Speaking on Koroki's inclusion, Teguramori said: “We’re currently waiting (to hear back)."
Meanwhile, Teguramori named his 35-man provisional list on Friday and will trim it down to 18 on July 1.
Koroki, 29, has 16 caps for Japan but no goals. He started his career at Kashima Antlers in 2005 before joining Urawa in 2013, scoring 92 league goals in 297 games in total. He has netted six times in 15 games this term.
