Rio 2016 Table Tennis: Quadri Eyes Q/Finals

Aruna Quadri will be eyeing a place in the quarter-finals of the men's singles in the Table Tennis event of Rio 2016 when he takes on Germany's Timo Boll in the fourth round today (Monday).

 

To get to this stage, Quadri defeated Slovakia's Yang Wang four sets to one before dispatching Chinese Taipei's Chih-Yuan Chuang in four straight sets.

 

Boll in his last match, defeated Russia's Alexander Shibaev four sets to  three.

 

A win for Quadri will see him face China's Long Ma or South Korea's Youngsik Jeoung in the last eight on Tuesday.

 

Nigeria's other representative in the men's singles, Segun Toriola, lost 4-2 to Japan's Niwa Koki.
