Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri has been drawn bye to the second round of the men’s singles event of the Rio Olympics, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Quadri who remains the best African player despite dropping to 40th from 38th in the worl is rated 27th for the men’s singles event at the Rio Games.
Team Nigeria will know their Rio Olympics table tennis team and singles opponents later on Wednesday, when the draw is held at the Riocentro Pavilion 3 in Rio.
In the team event, Nigeria may be drawn in same group with top teams as they are the third lowest ranked team in the men’s team event.
Sixteen teams will battle for laurels in the team event; the teams will be drawn into four groups of four teams in each group.
