Nigeria Professional Football League club Rivers United have picked December 12 as the new departure date for their Spanish tour, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Pride of Rivers were initially scheduled to travel to Spain for the last round of their pre-season exercise on December 4 but had to shift the date to allow them toparticipate in the Super Four competition.
The Stanley Eguma-led side will compete in the Super Four alongside league champions, Enugu Rangers, Wikki Tourists and FC IfeanyiUbah starting from December 7th in Enugu.
A contingent of 28 players and 13 officials will depart the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Abuja on Monday, December 12 for the tour.
While in Spain, the team will play friendly games against a yet to be named La Liga side, as well as Segunda B clubs Levante Union Deportiva 11 and Club Deportivo Alcoyano.
The team is expected back in the country on December 22.
Rivers United came second in NPFL last season and alongside champions Enugu Rangers will represent Nigeria in a the CAF Champions League next year.
