Nollywood superstar, Richard Mofe Damijo (aka, RMD) has expressed his utmost sadness at the 2-0 capitulation of Arsenal in their Round of 16 first leg meeting against champions, Barcelona, at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
Arsene Wenger's side managed to hold Barcelona to a scoreless first half, but conceded twice in the second half with goals scored by Lionel Messi.
The result now makes it extremely difficult for the Gunners to progress to the quarter-finals stage.
Die-hard Arsenal supporter, RMD, spoke to Completesportsnigeria.com
"Am I expecting Arsenal to shock Barcelona at the Camp Nou? Nahhhh," the award-winning actor who has acted in hordes of Nigerian and international movies began.
"I am too heartbroken. All the calculations went belly up. You (Barcelona) don't beat us 2-0 when we hold you for over 70 minutes. It's gone now.
"Arsenal's defending were atrocious. It's painful we keep saying the same thing about the club every season. I mean, it is not enough to qualify for the competition, we (Arsenal) also need to make an impact."
"In Spain we just should just show up and have fun. Arsenal will not defeat Barcelona 3-0. I don't even expect a 1-0 or 1-1 in Arsenal's favour. That will not happen," the brand ambassador of a leading Nigerian telecommunications company said ruefully.
The Gunners will now concentrate on domestic football as they look forward to Sunday's Premier League battle against Manchester Unitedon Sunday at the Old Trafford.
