Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr was on hand to oversee the CHAN Eagles’ Tuesday training at the Sani Abacha stadium, Completesportnigeria.com can report.
Super Eagles Media officer, Toyin Ibitoye had informed Completesportsnigeria.com on Monday night that the German-born tactician touched down at the Aminu Kano international airport at the same time most of the invited players were arriving after last weekend’s NPFL matches.
According to Ibitoye, Rohr's major duty is to supervise team training while the coach Salisu Abubakar is still in charge of the team.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) chieftains had cleared the air last week on Rohr’s presence in the camp, after soccer aficionados felt coach Salisu should be allowed to focus on team selections and training. But the team’s media officer revealed that Rohr's presence has gone a long way to boost the morale of the players and coaching crew alike.
“We are happy to open the camp today (Monday),’’ begins Ibitoye. “The players have been arriving and so far so good, the camp has been bubbling with life. Rohr is here to supervise training only and offer support to the team as the technical adviser of all national teams. Indeed his presence has really boosted players’ morale and we are ready to go,” he said.
