  • Why did he drop lokosa when mikel Agu is there doing Nothing?

    • Dere is somtin hidden abt dat guy mikel agu and rohr ,, d guy is so poor on d pitch but dis coach has bn using him in all his game…

      Rohr u fucking up

    • Okeren Kelvin 3 years ago

      Is lakosa a midfielder?

  • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

He will still drop 3 players and am sure Mikel Agu will surely be among so no need to worry

  • Echiejile or Aina, Musa or Joel Obi / Onazi, and Simon Moses will drop from London.
As a matter of fact surprises are welcomed, drop Musa and Onazi. Plus injured moses.

  • Chima E Samuels 3 years ago

Lol mikel Agu don suffer for Nigeria hand… sad to see lokosa out it means we will be going with only 2 point 9 ighalo and Simy

  • Olawale 3 years ago

I don’t see the reasons why Mikel agu is always picked.. Not seen him really perform to earn the Jersey

  • With what I have seen playing our in eagles camp. I can conclude that Rohr is not 100% in control of who get selected into the camp.
My argument: Uche Agbo since 2016 have not been found worthy to play despite consistent invitation, not even against on paper minnows like DRC. Now he get dropped from the final list. What has he contributed when there are worthy midfielders that were not invited.
I see this as a total waste of slot on the 30 man list… To me the number of players invited is 29 and not 30.
Pls any one should dispute my argument withcontrary facts

Football matches are played for 90 mins. One good performance during 90mins doesn’t mean a player is good. Neither do one bad performance in 90mins signify that a player is bad. Coaches spend time with players in camp more than what you and I see during the course of a football match. As such, these coaches know the capability of each player more than you and I. Remember these players also wear GPS tracker during training where the physical performance is also accessed. So, believe in the coaches. They know what they are doing.

They said Akpeyi and Ezenwa are better than Dele Ajiboy** ? What an irony!
    This country is something else

  • Abdul andah 3 years ago

    @Baba: tombs for you men!
    That’s a nice observation.

  • Abdul andah 3 years ago

    @Baba:tombs for you men.
    I like that your observation.
But the truth is that you can be a coach of any African national team and have 100% control of your team. That’s why Africa societies are still lacking behind. I noticed Rohr complained of the state of the adokie pitch in PortHarcourt but due to the politics in football it was still played there.

  • Elderson Echiejile is much needed in our team. His experience will count in more ways than two. Any player with severe injury should not be enlisted, but I doubt if there are none nursing one or not. Rorh should save us of Mikel Agu, Joel Obi, Onazi not even exempted. The World Cup is not a mundial of comedy but serious business.

    • What experience, he has only played 2 matches in 2nd divisions Belgian league.

He should not have been called up

  • chybyke 3 years ago

    Rohr will drop either!!!

    Mikel Ndubuisi Agu/Joel Obi
    Kenneth Omeruo/Chidozie Awaziem
Tyronne Ebuehi/Ola Aina/Moses Simon…..the situation here is a bit tricky..Ebuehi is the 2nd choice right back to Shehu Adbullahi and if fit he’ll definitely make the plane to Russia, if he’s not then Aina is going to Russia..that’s the only reason Aina is still in the running.. If Moses Simon is fit then the due of Mikel Agu or Joel Obi will be dropped,if he isn’t fit then Aina stands a chance of going, his Chances depends if Simon or Tyronne don’t recover in time

I’m rooting for Chidozie Awaziem,Moses Simon,Tyronne Ebuehi and Mikel Agu

My predicted lists of players to be dropped…
    Kenneth Omeruo
    Ola Aina
    Joel Obi

if simon doesn’t recover then it’ll be

    Simon Moses
    Joel Obi
    Kenneth Omeruo

  • Hmm. ….Ola Aina and Either Agu/joel/Ogu will be dropped. Ola Aina is the surest to follow. But it will be very painful. It can also be Ebuehi cos of injury. I can’t imagine Nigeria calling many Nigerians born in England. Abraham, Akpom, etc. And now planning to drop the only player that shows interest all in the name of experience. So sad. I won’t be surprise if Echiejile doesn’t play a single match throughout d tournament.  Nigerian Team  usually has players like that each world cup. Rabiu Afolabi and Mutiu Adepoju (2002), Brown Ideye (2010), Ejike Uzoenyi (2014) they will just be there to get coach deceived. Players like that make the likes of iheanachos,  Onazis, Mikel Agus, perform better in training. Imagine iheanacho, Musa before Echiejile in training,  u will believe they are the best u have.

    • Its unfortunate that Aina may not make the team this time, but being English born should never come in here. It’s a question of ability and the level of competition for the position. After all the others like Abraham that chose England couldn’t also make the World Cup. Much as we all appreciate Aina, it’s obvious that he’s not ready yet for the big stage. Although the other left backs are not much better than him on current form, they have experience behind them. In the right back position, Shehu and Ebuehi are clearly better. Good thing is that Aina is still young and his time will surely come if he keeps on working hard.

    • Obozuwa 3 years ago

What are you guys even saying? Aina is a very versatile defender that play both left back and right back he can never be dropped from the squared. is there any good defender that has no record of causing a PK? who leaves in the defence department will be any of the left backs (Echiejile or Idowu). as Awuziem and Kenneth Emeruo are substitutes for Balogun and Ekong.

  • chybyke 3 years ago

in my opinion I think Agu is better than Joel Obi…Agu may not be stylish…but he’s more deep lying and more of a box to box midfielder who does all the team dirty work like Man-marking,sniffing out danger…he strictly takes instruction from the coach and adhere to it….Joel is good but we have better players in his position like Mikel Obi and Etebo..For me John Ogu and Mikel Agu are worthy to earn a place in Russia

Stop the hate and disrespect on Mikel Agu!!

    • You have to add creativity to coach instructions. Because you won’t remember all the instructions once you are running up and down in the field. Coach instructions are to guide your creativity. If football is about following instructions. Then, anyone can be selected and be given instructions on what to do.

    • Lambert 3 years ago

Tell them He more mobile which is a plus in modern midfield.
Ogu their darling is heavy and dull he will be droped.

If Moses Simon makes it then Kenneth O,Ogu and Agu will go but Agu will be on standby and will go to Russia.

      • Lambert 3 years ago

If Simon fail the test Agu is the 23rd player live.

      • Obozuwa 3 years ago

my brother try and understand the game, the right and only natural substitute to Mikel Obi is John Ogu, the coach have realised that and he is looking for a replacement that fits in incase of injury, thats why Onazi and Iheanacho have been tried in that position during the friendlies and if our spy count on that they will lose.

  • chybyke 3 years ago

I’m really hoping for Simon Moses to be fully fit….Ihenancho,Iwobi and Musa can’t replace Simon….in my opinion after Moses,Mikel and Balogun,Moses Simon is the best….I’m not fully convinced with Odion Ighalo I prefer Simeon Nwankwo to him

    • Honestly d guy is more dan gud,,
      We nid him ooo
He is very fast and attack minded

  • I think Echiejile will not be drop because he lost out of 2010 and 2014 World Cup due to injury.that is why even when he is playing badly the coach still prefer him ahead of others player in the squad. Ebuehi will be part of the World Cup squad if there is no injury setback because he tactically sound and secondly he have not been officially cap by nigeria.any hitch to remove him from 2018 World Cup will give Netherlands the chance to lure him from Nigeria.
The player to be drop might be between Mikel Agu / Joel Obi/ John ogu in midfield while in defence it might be between Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina, Chidozie Awaziem.in attack Moses simon if unfit

  • … Agu, Ebuehi and moses should go to world cup. Kenneth, obi should relax and prepare for next world cup.

  • It is difficult to drop three players now, because THERE ARE STILL MORE THREE PLAYER in the team that have no business in the team. Aina, Echedile, Agu, musa, obi, omerou, akpeyi, two of these guys should have dropped for lokosa and Ajibola. Ihenacho and ogu should be on warning list

    • @Oso, forget it, there are some players that can never be dropped based on executive orders. For purpose of “SPREAD,” I can confidently tell you neither Musa nor Aina will be dropped (no matter what their output in training and friendlies). If you know, you know.

  • Walking 3 years ago

I knew lokosa was just called on out of pity, but this should not be the case… To my best opinion, I prefer lokosa to iheanacho. Apart from the fact that iheanacho is a left footer which is an advantage in some cases. I also believe eze should have been given a chance to prove himself

    • Fortesam 3 years ago

@walking, football is a team sport, not an individual sport. The chemistry built between troost ekong and balogun over the past year cannot be built within two weeks of camping. If u introduce these players that u are suggesting into the team, Same you will critique the coach that super eagles are not playing as a team. Team building takes a lot of time. I like what Rohr is doing. If it were some other coaches they would have called 50 players to camp with only two weeks of training before the world Cup.
Please let’s support the team. Not individual players.

  • Things are getting a bit clearer now. It’s obvious Aina is still in the team only because the coaches are not yet certain about Ebuehi’s injury situation. In the midfield either Mikel Agu or Joel Obi will be dropped, most likely, Mikel Agu.
The real challenge is if Moses Simon is declared okay – who among Musa, Iheanacho or Iwobi can be dropped for him? Most likely Musa, but the coach may opt to drop another midfielder instead of a striker. In that case, Joel Obi or even Etebo may be sacrificed. Unfortunate as it is for Simon, his injury situation kind of makes things a bit easier for the coaches.

  • Sunnyb 3 years ago

Babatunde, you are correct I have said many times Rohr is not in charge  of players invitations and selections. Imagine Agbo, Ogu,Agu,Ezenwa,Iheanacho,Eze, and fragile Joel Obi, are these players truly World Cup materials.  Now a conspiracy is going on to force Simon out. Anybody can criticize me, days from now I shall be proven right.

  • Joel obi…Moses Simon.. Mikel Agu should be drop….very painful to see Nigeria highest goalscorer in Nigeria premier league drop..junior lokosa would have make the squad coz he is a very good striker nd highest goalscorer… Hmm

  • Anthony 3 years ago

Joel Obi, Mikel Agu and Ogenyi Onazi not good enough midfielders for the world cup. Any of these 3 kids would have done better; Tosin Kehinde, Kelechi Nwakali or Musa Yahaya. These kids are great play makers, but it’s just unfortunate Rohr does not have their profiles.

  • Djeniko 3 years ago

@Fortesam you are the only one that is reasonably calm in your analysis. I have not read your comments anywhere before but you make sense. One good or bad performance should not be used to assess anyone player. Moreover the coaching crew are with the players everyday and so are in contact with them and so know the players more than we who are outside the camp are. Some players may even request to be dropped from the camp for reasons known to the player and coach. Some players are nursing some nagging injury which will be discovered during training. Some players are misbehaviours which is not good for the camp. Some players do not respect the captain or his vice and this can make them to be picked to be dropped. There are so many reasons to drop a player. But to say that the coach does not have a 100% freehand to pick his squad is just not fair and it is a lie. Amaju Pinnick will never allow that under his watch. Amaju Pinnick is a football administrator to the core. Anyone picked is on merit. So far, those dropped will eventually be dropped after the vs England match. Rohr will not even tolerate it. He will complain to FIFA and threaten to resign. So far nothing as such which means there is no pressure on him to pick some big wig’s wards. One thing I know Nigerians are capable of doing is that whoever is picked, we will forget all this pick this drop that argument and throw our full support for the team!!!!! That I can beat my chest. We will all support the Super Eagles.

  • the goal keeping dept is done deal, central back is seal (ekong, balogun, omorua, aweazim) RB, Sehu & idowu is guarantee. battle between (ebuchi, Aina, ederson) 1 must give way. our milfeld is settled, obi, onazi, indidi,John ogu, (battle between Mikel agu & Joel obi) supporting strikers, we have iwobi, ihenacho, victor Moses. battle between (Simon & musa). attack igalo & simmy.

  • onwajunior 3 years ago

@Jaye….the battle is between Simy and Simon Moses. Musa will not be dropped. Rohr is keeping faith with his core team, the only gamble is Simy and if Simon is fit then Simy will give way.

  • Sa Dave 3 years ago

Its a pity Steve Eze was drop.. Categorically tell you that he is better than Omeruo!
In ma opinion, the last 3 to be drop are:
    *Aina or Elderson
    *Simon or Agu
*** The Wings Of African Pride ***

  • Wow for now I can’t fault GR on d players he dropped cos I can clearly understand his philosophy at dis stage b4 u make d final cut u must bring something special to d table guess that’s y simmy is in d team, lakossa is good n similar to what is on ground already n d chosen ones had d edge over him bcos of d team chemistry, same goes to d other guys that were dropped, but what I don’t understand is how a player who is a bench warmer @ circle Brugge,n not good Enof for its parent club Monaco will be sure of worldcup spot it baffles me some here say experience lol experience ko experience ni,when he was fit we all no what he is capable of,at d moment he is not n age is not on his side let’s tell our selves d truth oo if GR is choosing his players on merit n echiejile is in d team then that’s 1big lie, fingers crossed

  • Are u aware that the $2.8m qualifier cash that would be shared by all invited players, Agbo will collect out of it even without kicking a ball. No wonder the guy kept honouring the invitation despite not playing.
I don’t envy him. Football is big business

  • Onimsi 3 years ago

A team looking for experienced players to the world cup and someone is saying drop musa and onazi. Remember there’s no martins or enyeama. Experience is key. If you think Mikel and echiejile should be the only senior players in the team no wahala

  • @ chidi. ..God bless u! People keep talking abt Experience. When u talk abt Experience. .mention Godin, Mikel Obi, Mascerano. Even when he was in his prime, he was the only Nigerian left Back that is not recognize in Africa…Ben Iroha,  Celestine Babayaro,  Taye Taiwo,  Udeze. ..Name them. He is d weakest left bank in history of Naija football. Even the only world cup he went to in 2010, He was disgraced against Greece.  So wat experience. Who ever d coach pick sa,  we are ready to support but right from day one, we all know he is d weakest link.

    • @Sean you are very correct about Echiejile. I even heard that he had not played competitive football for his club since February!!!

  • Ogie samuel 3 years ago

Mikel agu simon and echiejele shld forget about playing in Russia,

  • its been interesting so far noting everyone view which I totally agree with especially with Alex analysis. its sad lakosa dropped , that to tell u RoHr already knows who is taken worldcup and who is just a formality. as for me I will drop chidozie awazium even S.Eze is better than him, I pray Aina makes it.. others I will drop will be Mikel Agu & Either Echille or John obi. I wish simon Moses can make it but if not that slot is obviously for any of the midfielders. if simon is fit I will drop both Mikel agu & john obi. and if need be for extra creative midfielder I will use versatile Iwobi in d middle. thanks

  • Am happy that you people re not member of the coaching crew,i remembered two months ago,you re all clamouring for the inclusion of Joel Obi,today u are now condemning him that he should be dropped. It shows u people dont know what midfield battle is.Also,The coach selection is based on his tactics, some players re good, but did they fit in the system.Agu that u are condemning today, the coach has faith in him, anybody dropped now doesnt mean he is not a good player, the truth is dat everybody can not go to the world cup, please support Genort Ror.Thank u

  • @mavins u are right
