By Johnny Edward:
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has admitted that his team will miss four key players in their Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup Nations qualifier against South Africa, but is banking on the newIy invited players to fill the voids, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Rohr will be without injured trio of Abdulahi Shehu, Francis Uzoho, Odion Ighalo while Wilfred Ndidi is suspended for the game due to two yellow cards.

He expects Villarreal’s winger Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Theophilus Afelokhai and Mikel Agu to fill the voids.

The German tactician also believes his young team has evolved well from their matchday-1 dfeat at home to South Africa in Uyo 17 months ago.

“Three injured players and one suspended, its difficult to play without them,” Rohr told journalists in Asaba.

“We are missing our right-back, Shehu, Ndidi is missing through suspension and injuries to our goalkeeper (Uzoho) and our goalscorer (Ighalo).

“So it’s a lot, but we will try to go to South Africa with some new players.

“We lost to South Africa a long time ago – over a year ago, but my young team now have experience of the World Cup and I believe they are able to play a good match even if we are missing four key players especially the goalkeeper and the goalscorer.

“Training sessions were good and we are well prepared.”

The Super Eagles squad is expected to fly out of the country from Benin Edo State later today (Thursday) aboard a charter Air Max to Johannesburg.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles need a point to secure a berth in the 2019 AFCON tournament in Cameroon next summer.

No sir we miss only ndidi.success is a deadly sticker than ighalo and reserve keepers can easily replace uzoho. Ndidi is d only one that will affect us.

Hmmm, well, i think our opinion differs based on our perception. I think the Coach knows what he is saying too.

l support your view my friend. Success is in the team by default. He has no record with his Club (1 goal) or Country to talk about. It may well be that Rohr may not use him in this match this week end. Ighalo who is in a devastating form in his last three games for his Nation, is well and over above any other player through out Africa at the moment. To compare Ighalo with Success is like comparing orange with apple.

They are all fruit why didn’t Ighalo score a single goal at the World Cup? Who them Dey decieve he had to wait for weaklings at nations cup qualifiers to take advantage of. I bet against South Africa he can not score one goal thank God he went to hide if it was Seychelles fishermen country he would play and score with one leg. Play success against Seychelles as see if he won’t score 4 goals or even 6. All those people criticizing omo9ja should go and jump inside the lagoon.

Chudi you’re right we only miss World class no4 Ndidi can the same world class tag be said of the rest? Nooooooo

Of course you would missed him like you did at the world cup in Russia. Coach Rohr fans on this forum says I’m very rude and CSN should blocked me and they failed woefully to realized that Super Eagles is the property of every Nigerian not a private owned and we all entitled to our own opinions. freedom of speech that I stated over the weekend also occurred today. Hmmm, God have mercy on me.

Only God can help this nation called Nigeria because people are putting their selves interests rather than the public opinions. Is it the way forward? Absolutely not.

It is you and I responsibilities to points out what is right and wrong. However, Nigeria vs South Africa, a must win match for Eagles. Musa, Etobo and Kelechi Promise Iheanacho feels the pains and came out to say they are ready to give whatever it takes and make Nigeria proud on Saturday. If these guys can say this, coach Rohr should believe in his players not in Ighalo alone. This is not a one man team. No excuses on Saturday. South Africa came to Nigeria to beat us 2-0 and we are going to Johannesburg to win, nothing else. It is now or never. I wish coach Rohr and his crew the best. God bless Nigeria!!!

Those guys are bunch of jokes they think CSN doesn’t find some truth in our conversation and all they think is anywhere belle face we must follow the coach even to Egypt! Plenty yeye talk from  Drey and Tayo

  • Pls somebody should tell our coachie, Rhor to mentain Iwobi in the attacking midfield position he played against Lybia. I don’t care who is our top nine, whether Osihmen or Success. Iwobi has got the sensational killer passes that breeds goals upfront. Sir Rhor pls give Osimhen the starting berth to prove his mettle. Plsss stop being afraid after all you can still make substitute afterwards. Thanks. I wish the Super Eagles a resounding success on Saturday.
