Rohr: Result Very Important, We’re Satisfied With Eagles’ Performance Vs Seychelles

By Adeboye Amosu:
Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, is satisfied with the performance of his players in the 3-0 away win against Seychelles in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Stade Linite, Victoria on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The three-time African champions dominated their less fancied hosts from start to end of the game.

Ahmed Musa broke the deadlock in the 15th minute when he unleashed a powerful shot from outside the penalty area that beat Seychelles goalkeeper Dave Mussard.

Chidozie Awaziem added the second in the 34th minute slamming the ball home after Kelechi Iheanacho free kick hit the post, while Odion Ighalo got the third from the spot in the 56th minute.

“We are very satisfied with the result as the important thing was to win three points,” Rohr told reporters after the game.

“It was not easy as our opponents were very combative and aggressive. We started well though in the second half we found it hard playing against the wind.

“Our opponents also worked hard and we never underestimated them.”

In other Group E match, South Africa and Libya played out a barren game in Durban. Both teams have four points apiece, with Nigeria trailing on three points. Seychelles sit at the bottom without any point..

You should rephrase the topic because Rohr did not talking of the performance of his team but “result”.

How could he Satisfied with Eagles’ Performance Vs Seychelles while we still have Gambia and South africa to play with?

We are 3rd on the table and it’s not guaranteed that the team would win the remaining matches that left to played.

Even, the un17 coach Manu Garba wasn’t satisfied with 5-0 win over the Ivory coast in their last match, how come Coach Rohr would be satisfied?

I am expecting you journalists to interview or tell coach Rohr what we have been discussing on this forum about his approach towards the team.

Nigerians are not happy based on Super Eagles performance. We have players that can get the job done but our best players are benched warmers under the coach Rohr’s era.

What is the way forward Nigerians? Are we going to leave our eyes open and letting the team crash out of the Afcon qualifiers again? It is well. God bless Nigeria!!!

Sorry, Libya I meant to say not Gambia. God bless Nigeria!!!

Rohr does not know the true value of Nigeria he thinks we are Burkina or Gabon that is why he doesn’t expect a world class performance from us. I have realized he doesn’t know our pedigree maybe he needs to be reminded that Nigeria is a country that once produced CAF player of the year and written history of African football at the world stage

I’ll be here laughing at you and your negative minded crew when Nigeria sits on top of the Table and qualify for AFCON 2019 by Gd’s grace @Omo9ja a.k.a Chairman of Unsatisfiable and Always Negative minded Nigerians

If hes satisfied , I have to say this I’m not. Ever since he took over the job , he’s been doing some thinhs that doesn’t make sense . Inviting a guy who scored just a goal in the world cup qualifier all for that same person to be s flop . A midfielder that doesn’t have a creative edge. Using a 17 years boy as a number one keeper . This man thinks he’s dealing with small teams . NFF really did this nation bad. You know salisu was caught taking bribes just to add a player not worthy to go to CHAN, which shows that Sunday Oliseh was right all along when he said that s journalist tried to make him to add a player into his team which he refused . All indicates that the football house itself is spoiling our football . They don’t care of the damage they’re placing , but of adding into their pockets , the reason why they hired s coach who wasn’t tactically enoufh to curtail Argentina in the final minutes of the world cup . This team has not done anything spectacular to my liking.

@ChairmanFemi: Yes! That’s our wish & prayer, to top the group. But believe me, Omo9ja is 100% right. Did you watch the match? NOT IMPRESSIVE!!! WE ARE NIGERIA!!! Libya routed Seychelles. Egypt routed Niger. That should be the level.
For me, Coach G.R kept Onyekuru too long on the bench. Ighalo should not have played 90min & Nwakali should have debuted in the game. For crying out loud what is John Ogu constantly doing on the bench when we know he his better than ONAZI? Those are part of Omo9ja’s view.

  • Someone just tell Mr Ghernot Rohr .. PLAY THE MEN YOU INVITE ..
inviting them without playing, could kill their morale and force them to rethink participation ..
let Onyekuru get plenty game time to build confidence and craft nous.. invite Awóníyì and Osimhen these would be very lethal young weapons if you can please invite and PLAY THEM .. LET NWAKALI PLAY PLEASE ‼️ ..and for the friendlies get more and even test all our past youth goalies to like Alampasu , and all the other U17, U20 goal keepers of the last 10 years ..keepers get better as they get on ..Uzoho should not be left as the sole keeping solution as it almost became for the last world cup, the old guys like Austin Èjìdé should be re tried as well .. ..you get the picture ..oh and please take another look at Fanendo Adi .. this is also the time to scour the NPL for very tall strong athletic ball playing defenders ..you can’t prove to us there are none ..c’mon were pushing 200m guys ‍♂️‼️
    I’ll just stop ✊‼️

Rohr is not a serious coach, this team is not going anywhere, with Ighalo and iheanacho  stating ahead of  Nwakali  and Onyekuru. I was expecting Indidi, Etebo and Nwakali combo in the midfield. Kalu, Musa and Onyekuru leading our attack I’m suspecting pay for play, but time would tell.

With all due respect to Onazi, ighalo and Kelechi iheanacho, they should give chance to others. I believe iheanacho can improve but for the other two they should hang of their boots and we the fans will honourobly respect their retirement.

    • Unfortunately these two have become the Mugabes of Nigerian football. Can’t they test their popularity by announcing their voluntary retirement from the national team to see if fans would call for their return as happened with Victor Moses?

      • Chima E Samuels 3 years ago

Ighalo is the mugabe as for onazi I grant him pardon

  • Chidi 3 years ago

Hy guys give the boys some credit they played on a synthetic pitch n for me d result is ok,ighalo n onazi should retire + Joel obi, honestly simmy would have done better than ighalo,I can’t  tell what’s b/w  d coach n ighalo

  • I dont knw how we nigerian fans will react in this old technical pattern of G.Rohr. This attitude of exchanging a player in 83 min. Or 87 min. Make us not to qualify on our group stage in Rusia 2018 world cup which he knows, it’s wickedness he is doing to us. Nff fail to caution him and here again he is repeating the old pattern. How could he play Ighalo and Onazi for 90 min. While players like John Ogu, Onyekuru and Nwakali where worming the bench. Awaziem despite the 2nd goal he scored, he was our weak defender, he was overlap and gives out the ball to the oponent so easily. Yet Genort Rohr has the boldness to say he was satisfy with the performance. My advise is Nff should employ Siasia to assist him.

B patient bro Carl ikeme will replace him but is gonna be a gradual process

  • This omo9ja and his crew always create confusion. A team won u complain that they didn’t play well or not beating their opponent by wide goal margin. Assuming they beat us what would you have done or u think it cannot happen? we av seen countless times a big team beaten by smaller team. Kenya stunned Ghana just yesterday. Honestly don’t know why you are like this all the time, don’t have anything against u @ omo9ja but truth be told u re not always making sense.

  • Fa fa fa fow,bia coach rohr nkita tagbuo gi there,so u are satisfied with that poor score against that non proffesional players,u are a drunkerd, their star player is a security man, while we have players that earns millions of dorllars per week,u are a waist

  • balorx 3 years ago

they played on a synthetic pitch n for me d result is ok……….

so Libya didn’t play on a synthetic pitch also??? pls no excuse , my street boys could have beaten Seychelles 3-0 too

  • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

Did everyone saw how bad the pitch was? Did you think it will be that easy to play on that turf? Was I the only one who saw when Samuel Kalu fell down early in the game and when he stood up, his leg was bleeding? Even there own players were ? e.g that there Fati-Keeper’s elbow and there defender too. Yet, some people expected us to play like Barca with that condition. Someone said something in the Viewing centre where I watched the match, he said”Even the wind for there no good o” So, when the coach now attested to that fat, I just applauded the players and the Technical crew for a superb display of Professionalism. Those saying that “common Libya defeated them 5-1 and Nigeria couldn’t beat them up to that score line. Am sure they don’t know that Libya defeated them @home, this is in Seychelles home. Why not wait for the return leg when they will play in our home and see what the scoreline will be before you lodge your insensible complain. #I Stand with Coach GR for life. #Great Coach

  • For those of us that says u are satisfy with the performance of Rohr. Dont complain if Rohr fail to qualify us to 2019 nations cup.
