Ronaldo Misses Portugal’s Confed Cup Third-place Match To Welcome Baby Boys 

 

    Portugal superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, in the early hours of Thursday confirmed he leaving Russia to welcome his two new baby boys born during the tournament.

    The Real Madrid talismanic striker will as a result miss Portugal's Confederations Cup Third-Place match on Sunday.

    Portugal lost 3-0 on penalties  to South America champions Chile after a 0-0 draw at regulation time.

    Ronaldo confirmed the birth of his two sons on Facebook and added he would consequently miss the third place play-off on Sunday against the loser of the Germany versus Mexico clash later today (Thursday).

    "I was in the service of the national team, as always, body and soul, even though my two sons were born," the Real Madrid star announced on Facebook.

    "Unfortunately, we have not been able to achieve the main sporting objective that we wanted, but I am sure we will continue to give joy to the Portuguese.

    "The president of the Portuguese Football Federation and the national team have today had an attitude that has touched me and I will not forget.

    "I'm very happy to finally be with my children for the first time," Ronaldo wrote enthusiastically.

    Ronaldo's first son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., turned seven earlier this month.
