Ronaldo Sets Champions League Goals Record As Real Rout Malmo

Cristiano Ronaldo set a new Champions League goals record as he scored four times in Real Madrid’s 8-0 win over Malmo in the final group match of their Champions League campaign.
The prolific forward’s scoring feat saw him set a new record of 11 strikes for the group stage of the competition, and helped his side consolidate the top spot in Group A.
It took the hosts 12 minutes to open the scoring, Karim Benzema on hand to guide the ball over the line after Isco’s header from Ronaldo’s cross was blocked on the line.
The French international netted his second in the 24th minute, beating Malmo goalkeeper Johan Wiland with a looping header following another Ronaldo cross.
After playing a part in Real’s first two goals, the Portuguese international got his name on the scoresheet before half time when his free kick eluded Wiland and crept into the bottom corner.
