Rose Confident Of Masters Breakthrough

World number one Justin Rose believes he has a good chance of breaking his Masters duck next year. Rose has enjoyed an incredible 2018 with Sunday’s Turkish Airlines Open victory marking the first time he has successfully defended a title in his career and also moving him back to the top of the OWGR’s.

The Englishman has recorded 24 top-10 finishes in his last 31 events and this superb level of consistency helped him win the 2018 FedEx Cup, whilst he was also part of Europe’s winning Ryder Cup team at Le Golf National in September.

Despite the superb run of form, the 38-year-old has only one Major title to his name – the 2013 US Open – but he is feeling confident of adding the Green Jacket to his collection at August National next year.

“I think next year is going to be about majors and just overall recovery, maybe not playing too much and being as fresh as I can for those,” he said. “At Augusta, I’m always there or thereabouts on the leaderboard every year.

“I feel good there. I know how to play the course, I read the greens well there. If my iron play sharpens up, which it has done a little bit of late, I think it’s a great opportunity for me.”
