Tomas Rosicky has underlined his desire to fight for a regular spot in Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side this season.
The Czech Republic international impressed on his first start of the season for the Gunners as he scored to help Arsenal seal a 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers on Boxing Day.
The 34-year-old midfielder, who has only made four top-flight appearances this term, was pleased to get on the score-sheet and is targeting a regular run in Wenger’s team.
“It was my first start of the season so I wanted to show the boss that he can use me more,” said Rosicky.
“It was an important victory for us because we played for a long time with 10 men but we dug deep and won the game.
“This is a very important part of the season so we are glad with the win.”
He added: “You can see that it [the title race] will be very tough and we will see how everyone is doing after the Christmas period.”
