Super Eagles Boss, Gernort Rohr would be counting his luck soon when he discovers that his new invitee for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles on Saturday September 8, Semi Ajayi is an utility player who can play from
Rotherdam Boss, Paul Warne acknowledged the versatility of his young Nigerian import following his impressive display in the club’s 1-0 defeat of visiting Millwall at the New York Stadium in Rotherham.
Ajayi, a centre-half, has shown himself to be the real deal for the club after playing very well as a central midfielder.
After impressive displays against the Latics and then Leeds, he stepped it up against Millwall on Sunday, helping the
Millers to a vital 1-0 win.He put in the perfect performance in front of the back four as he covered the ground effortlessly, won tackles and headers and bullied the opposition.
“Semi was a joke,” the boss said. “He could play anywhere for me. He could play up front, on the wing or full-back – I know you might think I’m a bit crazy.
“I could do with signing a few more Semi Ajayis. He is everywhere for me at the moment. “I like him there, he looks more confident and he does cover the ground for us and gives us protective cover.
“He looked like he enjoyed it. Being a centre-half if you make an error it’s a goal. If you’re a centre-mid and you make an error and concede a goal you can blame the two centre-halves behind you. “It does give him a bit of freedom.”
