ROUND-UP: Etebo Returns In Las Palmas Defeat; Ideye, Eze, Kayode In Action

Victor Moses played the entire duration of Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final of the Emirates Cup final on Saturday.

The Super Eagles World Cup-bound star played a key role as Chelsea won their eighth FA Cup.

Nigeria midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo returned from injury and bagged a yellow card on Saturday while in LaLiga action for Las Palmas who lost 2-1 at home to Eibar.

Etebo who has been listed in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup has made 14 appearances this term.

His compatriot Imoh Ezekiel was not included in the matchday squad.

Brown Ideye came on for Maxime Lestienne in the 68th minute of Malaga’s 1-0 loss at home to Getafe.

 The game was Ideye’s 13thof the campaign. Isaac Success played the full 90 minutes for Malaga.

In Belgium, Joseph Akpala made his 35th Jupiler Pro League appearance for Oostende this season as they lost 1-0 to Royal Antwerp. Akpala has scored nine league goals this season

In Switzerland, Nigerian defender Stanley Amuzie was handed a cameo appearance in Lugano’s 1-1 draw with FC Zurich.

 Amuzie came on for Eloge Yao in the 86th minute while Stephen Odey came on two minutes before the hour mark.

The 22-year-old Amuzie has made 13 league appearances while Odey has made 13 appearances, scoring two goals.

Super Eagles defender Stephen Eze earned his first yellow card of the season in action for Lokomotiv Plovdiv who played out a 2-2 draw at home to Cherno More Varna. The lanky defender was on for the entire duration of the draw.

In Turkey, Nigerian forward Emem Eduok extended his goal drought to eight games despite playing for 84 minutes before he was replaced by Hasan Bilal in Kasimpasa’s 3-2 loss to Istanbul Basaksehir.

The match was Eduok’s 30th league game of the season. He has also scored seven goals.

In Ukraine, Olarenwaju Kayode saw 90 minutes of action for Shakhtar Donetsk who lost 2-1 to Dynamo Kyiv in the Ukrainian Premier League.

 The game was Kayode’s ninth since he joined the club on loan from Manchester City in January. He has scored three goals and provided two assists.
