By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
Nigeria must beat Cameroon and Zambia at home to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, former Super Eagles and Nigeria U-23 Olympic team coach Samson Siasia has advised while commending the Gernot Rohr's team's progress in the qualifiers.
Siasia expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the Super Eagles so far in the qualification campaign during a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com on Tuesday.
Siasia opined that a victory over Cameroon and Zambia in Nigeria will be enough to get Nigeria the ticket to the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"The Eagles have done well so far and I must say the young lads who were introduced into the team have impressed me most, and with their hunger, I cannot see Cameroon and Algeria stopping us from going to Russia, but all hands must be on the deck," Siasia told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"If they continue with the form that saw them beat Zambia in Ndola and Algeria in Uyo.
"Nothing will stop them from qualifying if they win their remaining home games against Cameroon and Zambia. We must make our home a fortress where no team can come and get a result," Siasia stated.
Super Eagles are scheduled to play Cameroon in August next year in Uyo with the return leg coming up four days later in Cameroon before facing Zambia in October also in Uyo.
