Sweden started their campaign at the 2018 FIFA World Cup on a winning note with a 1-0 win against South Korea at the Stadion Nizhny Novgorod on Monday.
Andreas Granqvist scored the winner from the penalty spot in the 65th minute.
Sweden dominated proceedings in the first half and created a couple of good openings, which they were unable to take.
VAR had to be consulted in the 64th minute when Kim Min-woo appeared to take down Victor Claesson inside the box.
The penalty was awarded and Granqvist rolled the ball to the left of Cho Hyun-woo.
The Swedes sit at the top of the group with Mexico who shocked defending champion Germany 1-0 on Sunday.
Sweden will face Germany in their next game at the Fisht Stadium on Friday.
