Russia goalkeeper and captain Igor Akinfeev has been named the Budweiser man of the match in his side’s 4-3 penalty win over Spain on Sunday.
The win was Russia’s first in seven meetings against the 2010 FIFA World Cup champions.
CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Akinfeev saved two kicks during the penalty shootout to help his side seal a quarter-final place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Akinfeev had during the game saved a goal-bound shot from Andres Iniesta in the closing stages of the game.
Russia will be looking to Akinfeev for more heroics when they face the winners of the Croatia and Denmark round of 16 clash in the quarter-finals.
