Brighton goalkeeper Mathew Ryan has urged his side to build on their recent performances as they try to avoid the drop this season. The Seagulls beat Manchester United 3-2 last week before falling to a narrow defeat by Liverpool.
Brighton made the Reds work hard for their 1-0 success and they could have snatched a point towards the end after Pascal Gross’s header was clawed away by Alisson.
Chris Hughton’s men can now look forward to back-to-back home games and Ryan is hoping his team can learn from their recent displays and start to make progress.
He told the Brighton and Hove Independent: “We can take a lot of confidence (from the Liverpool performance). The manager said to us afterwards that it’s not often that you come to these sorts of places and you leave disappointed having lost the game because you feel you deserved better.
“We’re not going to be accepting any excuses. We’ve come and done it against one of the in-form and best teams in the league.
“They proved that last year and they’ve proved it with their start to the season. We’ve come here and gave it everything we had. Our desperation in defending was outstanding from everyone and our application, attitude, competitiveness and everything like that, all of those boxes were ticked.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
