Bubba Watson is desperate to win the Ryder Cup for the United States and admits it would be as good as claiming a major. The 39-year-old is making his fourth appearance in the biennial event this week but has yet to be on the winning team.
Watson was part of the US sides that lost at Celtic Manor in 2010, Medinah two years later and at Gleneagles in 2014.
The left-hander is among Jim Furyk’s 12 players who will look to retain the trophy at Le Golf National this week, with the US team favourites to get the better of their European rivals in Paris.
The two-time Masters champion is excited by the prospect of playing for his nation and confessed that success this week would rival anything he has done in his career to date.
“I’ve never won one of those so I gotta win one,” he told the Daily Mail. “Is it going to affect my career? No. But because it’s something I haven’t done, because it’s the United States of America.
“It’s the flag, representing our country, representing the fan base, representing the team, having five vice-captains and a captain, and their wives and spouses, 11 other guys that I’m playing with and playing for… gosh, it would be the thrill of a lifetime. It would equal a major for sure.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
