Torino’s new Nigerian signing Umar Sadiq is prepared to take advantage of the opportunity offered him at his new club to relaunch himself, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Sadiq, who shone for the Nigeria U-23s at the Rio Olympics in 2016 as they won bronze, joined Torino on a season-long loan deal from fellow Series A club AS Roma with an option of a permanent move if he impresses.
The 20-year-old told Torino’s official website after passing his medicals on Wednesday that he is delighted to join the club.
“I am very happy to be a football player of Torino and I thank the whole club for the confidence they have in me,” Sadiq told the club’s official website.
“For a young man it is important to know that I have so much support and I will give it my all and take advantage of this great opportunity.”
Sadiq trained with his new teammates on Wednesday ahead of Torino’s Serie A opener against Bologna on Sunday.
Nigerian midfielder Joel Obi is also at Torino.
