Salami Doubtful For Kwara United Clash

By Adeboye Amosu:

Warri Wolves are hopeful their top striker, Gbolahan Salami, will be fit for Sunday’s Glo Premier League match day 29 home fixture against Kwara United, can report.

The forward sustained a groin injury in the Seasiders’ week 27 clash against his former side, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, and as a result missed last weekend’s away draw against Nasarawa United.

Media Officer of the side, Moses Etu, however informed that the erstwhile Sunshine Stars player is working hard to ensure he is ready to face the Harmony Boys.

“We are hoping Salami will be fit enough to play against Kwara United on Sunday,” Etu told

“He is an important player for us and we hope he will be available not only for this game, but for the rest of the season.”

Despite his persistent battle with injuries this season, Salami has scored 10 goals for the Seasiders this term.

He also scored four times in their ill-fated CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Wolves are second on the log, four points behind leaders Enyimba.
