Gbolahan Salami is not fretting over Super Eagles chances of lording it over Sudan tomorrow to re-oil the 2015 AFCON machine.
Tagged ‘Ballitoli’ of Nigeria football, the power shooting forward says this is no time to be chicken-hearted as the big clash beckons.
“We’re going to Sudan to play the game of our life. Its either we get it or we lose it all.
“In the situation we are right now its important we get it and we have no choice than to do just that”.
Salami scored his Super Eagles goal in the 2-3 loss to Congo in Calabar last month after coming off the bench.
He knows as well as his teammates that the stakes are much higher now and that any slip up could be not augur well for the team’s AFCON 2015 aspirations.
“We are focused, we’re determined, everyone is looking forward to a tough game but with victory in our minds.
“Its not being over confident, its about underrating our opponents, its all about believing in oneself and one’s capabilities.
“We’ve prepared for the game, whether on natural grass or artificial pitch, after all, almost all the pitches in
Nigeria where we play our league games week in, week out are astro turf, and I believe our colleagues in Europe are also used to Astro turf too.”
