Sale have been rocked by the news that winger Marland Yarde will miss the rest of the season after picking up a serious knee injury. Yarde has been in impressive form for Sale but his season is now over after he picked up the injury during the 20-7 win over Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
Sale have confirmed that Yarde ruptured his MCL and ACL ligaments and dislocated his left knee while making a tackle in the clash and the injury is likely to keep him out for a minimum of six months.
That means the target will be to return for pre-season training and comes as a huge blow to both Sale and England.
Yarde had set his sights on breaking into the England squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, and although there is still a chance of making it, his hopes have been dented.
There is some good news for both club and country though as Chris Ashton is set to return to action following a ban.
