Nigerian forward Sammy Ameobi has signed a new two-year deal with Sky Bet Championship club, Bolton Wanderers, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ameobi, 26, who was out of contract after joining the Whites permanently last summer, turned down several offers from leading Championship clubs to remain with the Toffees.
He made 36 appearances and scored four goals in the 2017/18 season and was twice voted Player of the Month by the club’s supporters as he helped Bolton secure survival last season.
Initially joining the Trotters on loan from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day in August 2016, he also made 24 appearances and scored four goals during the first half of the 2016/17 campaign with Wanderers going on to win automatic promotion from League one that year.
“It’s great to have signed a new deal because this place means a lot to me. I’m really excited to be back and I can’t wait to get started,” he told bwfc.co.uk after penning the new contract.
“I spoke to the manager and he knows me very well. I get on so well with everyone here and it’s such a wonderful environment to work in.
“That was a huge factor in me wanting to stay here.”
