Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has confirmed the club have asked for their clash with Fiorentina to be postponed. The city of Genoa was rocked on Tuesday when the Morandi bridge collapsed, killing at least 36 people.
A number of others have suffered injuries and the FIGC have confirmed that a minute’s silence will be held before all games.
However, Ferrero wants their match to be suspended as the city comes to term with the incident.
“Today my Genoa is wounded,” Ferraro told Adnkronos.
“I ask for the postponement of the Fiorentina match. This is a pain that cannot be commented on.”
