–Tunji Oyewale too as U-23 Eagles screening ends this weekend
Beitar Jerusalem of Israel and Nigeria youth international, Sani Emmanuel, Tuesday arrived at the training camp of the U-23 team in Abuja as coach Samson Siasia continues to take a look at players in his camp.
Also in the camp of the team is Tunji Oyewale, who plays his club football with Aveley FC, a non-professional side in England.
Emmanuel started his career with My People FC, Lagos, going on to play for the U-17 team, Golden Eaglets in 2009 and later the U-20 Flying Eagles at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Before teaming up with Beitar Jerusalem, Sani Emmanuel, 22 had starred for Bodens BK (2009-2010), Lazio of Italy (2010-2012) and was lifted to the Lazio senior team from where he went on loan to Salemitana 1919 in 2012 and latter Blei Bienne.
“Sani joined the camp on Tuesday. There are some other foreign based players but truth is that these players came on their own and are outside the list of invited foreign based players expected in camp next week”, confirms Timi Ebikagboro, spokesman of the team.
“Let’s make it clear here, the camp had been thrown open by Siasia in order to give the over 50, 000 Nigeria youth opportunity.
“But anyone of them who makes it will have his ticket refunded. We want the best and that’s why the coaches are going this length.”
Tunji is said to have caught the eyes of the coaches with blistering performances that could see him selected when the final roll call will be made this weekend.
Siasia will shut the training camp doors for the home based players this weekend to make room for the invited foreign legion who will take their screening turns starting from December 7.
