Maurizio Sarri looks set to hand Eden Hazard a start when Chelsea face Arsenal on Saturday, while Mateo Kovacic should also feature. Hazard began the season-opening 3-0 win at Huddersfield on the bench having only returned to training with the Blues at the start of the week after an extended summer break due to his World Cup heroics.
The Belgium international impressed when coming on against the Terriers late in the match and Sarri could now decide to throw him in from the start when the Gunners visit Stamford Bridge for the teatime kick-off.
Summer signing Kovacic could also get his first taste of Premier League action following his move from Real Madrid in the summer, although it is likely he will have to settle for a place on the bench.
Much like Hazard, Kovacic has only recently returned from holiday after helping Croatia reach the World Cup final and Sarri says he’s not yet ready for 90 minutes.
Sarri also confirmed that Cesc Fabregas would not be available to face his old club, the Spanish midfielder having picked up a knee injury in training before the clash with Huddersfield.
