Seagulls Planning To Keep Glenn Murray On Board

Brighton have reportedly reached a provisional agreement with veteran striker Glenn Murray on a new deal for the 2019/20 season. Despite turning 35 last week, Murray continues to be boss Chris Hughton’s first choice to lead the line for the Seagulls and has rewarded his manager’s faith this term by netting four goals in seven Premier League appearances.

That has taken Murray’s tally to 39 goals in 85 league appearances during his second stint with Brighton, with Murray having re-joined from Bournemouth on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January 2017.

The original deal Murray penned is due to expire at the end of the season but Brighton have no intention of letting him walk away, with the Argus reporting a provisional agreement has been reached on an extension.

Former Albion defender James Tunnicliffe, Murray’s representative, told The Argus: “Glenn’s happy and I think his performances are showing that. He’s just focused on continuing to perform.”
