Former Super Eagles defender, Isaac Semitoje, has tasked the players of the national team to show more commitment in the remaining 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches as the World Cup qualifier against Cameroon beckons, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Semitoje believes a new mindset is needed which is key in Nigeria’s home and away games on September 1 and 4 in the World Cup qualifiers against the African champions.
“Nigeria need the three points against Cameroon at home and possibly away, why not; very, very important, no two ways about it,” Semitoje told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I know that the players can do it if the commitment is there. They have to show same passion and commitment as we see when they play at their clubs in the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
“The defeat at home to South Africa (2019 AFCON qualifier) have shown that the Eagles must step up because the fear factor is gone in the eyes of other African countries.
“However, their monetary entitlements should not be an issue and personal issues must be of importance.
“You can imagine how grateful and honoured Carl Ikeme will be now with the show of love he got from the NFF and the football world in general after the leukaemia disease was detected, things like that matter. I commend the NFF for that,” Semitoje added.
The Eagles camp will open for the first leg of the matches against Cameroon on the last week August.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
